SITE INVESTIGATION

Site context was to establish the relationship between the site and the wider area. Found that the site sits on a major access route between the four suburbs surrounding the area. Provides access to the CBD from major residential area (New Farm), becomes an important part of Brisbane's infrastructure.

Site investigation as depicted above is my interpretation of how the site is used in its current (before the floods) showing sun path, wind direction, vegetation on site, heritage listed building, orientation, boundaries and natural and manmade features of the site. Thought the best place for the folie was in line with the existing flow of pedestrians, by protruding it into their natural path increases the likeliness of interaction and use

Initial site and area investigation looking at main axis, location of important areas around the site and linking point the connect the site to the rest of the city.
